As a random aside, the container itself is really bad. It's entirely opaque, preventing visibility of the remaining quantity. The dispensing opening is undersized, and the surrounding design complicates pouring. Smell: notes of caramel, apple, spice, and sweet brown sugar. Hints of bitter herb, pressed paper, and dried grass. A subtle lemon-lime essence appears later. Palate: an assertive spice and stone fruit flavor gives way to a thick, syrupy sweetness with undertones of allspice and clove, accented by faint berry and sugary notes. Adding water significantly enhances the experience, even at 43% ABV. Smell: rich cocoa, butterscotch, and stone fruit combined with mild citrus and vanilla. A cereal-like malt, reminiscent of spiced cookies. Palate: robust grassy and malty flavors precede a concentrated sweet fruitiness. Dark berry and red berry notes lead into a powerful peach and clove aftertaste.
