Donna Shuler 2.5

Every 10,000 years, when the sun aligns with the center of the galaxy, you get to experience... A terrible Dalmore. Bottled at 46% ABV, this is a 10-year-old dram, vintage 2004. And it's awful. Dalmore is known for its sherry influence, but it appears this whisky was only aged in ex-bourbon barrels. On the nose: Milk, Herbal licorice note, Hanuta, Hazelnut, Orange caramel. Not bad at all. On the palate: Chili. Almonds. Acetone. Far too spicy chili and wasabi. This is not Dalmore. This is not sherry. Unenjoyable. Aftertaste is unpleasant. Hot oak. Spicy chili. Far too spicy. Off-putting. Overall, this is a complete failure, especially for a Dalmore. This is the exception to the norm, scoring 56 out of 100. Steer clear.
