Bobby Mahoney 2.5

Rarely does a whisky this bad emerge. Bottled at 46% ABV, this 2004 vintage is horrible. While Dalmore is known for sherry maturation, this appears to have only seen ex-bourbon barrels. The nose offers milk, herbal licorice, a biscuit, hazelnut, and orange caramel – not bad. However, the palate brings chili, almonds, and acetone. The intense chili and wasabi are overwhelming. This doesn't resemble Dalmore or sherry; it's unenjoyable. The finish is unpleasant with hot oak and excessive chili spice, making it off-putting. An absolute disaster, especially for a Dalmore, earning a 56 out of 100. Steer clear.
