Dad's Hat Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey Finished in Honey Casks

Somewhat disappointed. Not as good as the port wine barrel finished or the standard Dad's Hat. Smells like a blend of scotch and honey. Tastes a bit like that, too. Tastes young, with a honeysuckle quality. Dry peanut in the finish. Oh well. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

Sweet and spicy. Like honey with black pepper and thyme/rosemary. Was excellent neat, and I found the flavor profile very intriguing compared to similarly priced bourbons and Irish spirits. I will purchase again if I can locate it!

Consumed neat, it was very pleasant, but adding ice truly enhances the honey notes!

Lots of honey, but it's quite thin.
