This beautiful single malt displays thin, viscous legs clinging to the glass and a bright, dry straw-gold hue. The aroma is sweet and reminiscent of Speyside, truly lovely. It includes notes of malt, strawberry milk, dried grass, honey, caramel, and a subtle mesquite smoke. The palate has a lighter texture and offers sweet fruity flavors like caramel apple, peach, lemon, apple skins, and BBQ char. The finish begins with a warmth that transitions into a sweetness like candy. This is one of the most delicious American Single Malts I've encountered! I appreciate the distillery's history, the product's concept, and their commitment to local sourcing. I highly recommend it and am eager to sample more of their offerings. Well done, Colkegan! Cheers!

The aroma is beautiful. This single barrel version of Colkegan ages for an additional year in apple brandy barrels. It's slightly sweeter than the standard bottling but nicely balanced with a very mild smoke and a subtly spiced apple finish.
Remarkably smooth with a slightly sweet aroma, a hint of apple initially, and a light, mesquite smoke finish. Lacks complexity.
Sweet notes of apples and pears on the nose, along with sweetness. I detect hot and spicy flavors on the palate, with nuts.
Melon, citrus, lemon, wood, salt, and wood on the nose. Vanilla, apple, wood, and white pepper are tasted.
Thin body, with a spicy finish and mild smoke.
