Today marks the end of the first SMWS bottle I was given. A few years back, I received a membership to SMWS for Christmas and have kept it up every year! Designation: Cinnamon raisin bagel Cask Identifier: 13.53 Age: 10 years old Produced: 31-05-2007 Cask Type: Second-fill ex-Bourbon barrel Limited to: 210 bottles Alcohol by Volume: 59.7 % Indications from the distillery code suggest this is a Dalmore. Bouquet: Sweet! Notes of apple, lemon zest, orange, vanilla, and a light floral touch. Taste: Quite sweet, with more apple, orange, and vanilla. A significant presence of baking spices and cinnamon. Aftertaste: A medium-length finish. You detect more of the spices and citrus. A slight tartness lingers. It's rather regrettable to finish this one, but that's the nature of single cask whisky - its disappearance is final. It was a brief yet very enjoyable experience. Moving on to the next one!

Possibly Dalmore. Distilled May 31, 2007. Warming and intensely spicy. I don't detect the doughiness mentioned by the society, but this cask strength whisky is complex. Floral notes are present but layered beneath spice and apple sweetness. Very tempting! I finished my first serving while writing this, so I might need another.
