Keenan Brothers 4.0

This is a 17-year-old Chivas Regal blend designed to commemorate revolutions, presented in a striking decanter that spins, offering a unique challenge to the JW swing. This rare, discontinued release was likely exclusive to the Japanese market. Bottled at 43% ABV with a golden hue. The nose is pleasant, offering vanilla, oranges, peaches, and pepper – distinctly Chivas Regal – along with some grain whisky, maize, and creamy chocolate, and white chocolate with almonds. The first sip evokes a frozen, moist vanilla cake, with hints of yeast and a cool sensation, plus orange sponge cake. The palate is simple yet beautiful, truly delivering the frozen, moist vanilla cake with ice cream, hay, and chocolate. It's absolutely delightful. The finish is a spice explosion with pepper, salt, and grain notes. Overall, this is a very smooth and appealing dram, offering exactly what one expects from a 17-year-old Chivas Regal. A nice offering with a collectible decanter. My rating is a solid 86 out of 100.

This certainly won't shock your senses, nor will it become your go-to Chivas anytime soon.

Smoky, with a touch of honey.
