About this bottle

Introduced in 2012 initially as a duty-free exclusive, this is the most recent addition to the Chivas lineup. The name "Brothers' Blend" honors James and John Chivas, the founders of the Chivas Brand. The brothers established a grocery store in the early 19th century offering items like spices and coffee, and they began blending whiskies, a practice continued by the Chivas brand today.

Ronald Guajardo 4.0

Filled at 40% alcohol by volume, with a color like amontillado sherry. Aroma presents a sherry character: sherry, cola, salt, peat, apples, blackberry jam. Taste includes caramel, almonds, wood, oranges, ashes and a lengthy, hot conclusion with slight heat. Overall score is 83 out of 100.

Stacy Holguin 3.5

The color is quite consistent. The aroma is mellow with only a trace of alcohol at the end. It goes down smoothly, with a minor whiff of alcohol through the nose on the way back. The taste is savory and lively. A faint warmth lingers afterward.

Remi Shapiro 3.0

Aroma: sweet, honey, faint wood in the background, alcoholic.. Taste: sweet, slightly sharp, then rich. Finish; short, sweet, followed by a longer bitter/spicy/peppery note.

Davion Phillips 3.0

Fruity and creamy, my preferred combination. It's rather rich and delicious.

Lorie Mckinney 3.5

Remarkably smooth with a peppery conclusion and hints of nutmeg

Malia Long 2.5

Neutral, a good introductory whisky.
