Chivas Regal asserts its position as the originator of luxury whisky with a 1909 launch, initially offering a 25-year-old blend that achieved considerable success, particularly in the United States, before the era of Prohibition. Almost a century later, in 2007, Chivas Regal 25 was reintroduced to the market, aiming to provide a comparable experience. Given the brand's extensive history, its portfolio's prior lack of a 25-year-old expression is noteworthy.

On the nose: hazelnuts, chocolate, vanilla, abundant malt. On the palate: velvety, amaretto, hazelnuts, subtle licorice, custard, always malt. A finish that isn't overly long but is sweet and perfectly harmonious. An almost perfect whisky, very approachable and easy to drink, but it slightly lacks character and distinctiveness: for this reason, it falls just short of the highest mark! rating 4.50
A very luxurious dram, very easy to drink, like most fancy blends it is delicious and not too complex. The aroma and tasting notes are very clean and made for everyone. Bottled at 40% alcohol by volume, golden color. On the nose is sweet and appealing: toasted oak, dry honey, herbal vanilla, raisins, and almonds. When you let it breathe it releases more dried fruits, figs, and raisins. On the palate is very wine-like and smooth. Herbal, rum, oak (lots of oak due to its 25 years), honeycomb. Aftertaste is medium long, very satisfying and herbal. In conclusion, this is a fine dram. Not very complex but very enjoyable. A little straightforward but very well crafted. 89/100.
Pure liquid gold. Among the finest whiskies I've encountered. I genuinely don't care if it's blended; it's of exceptional quality from Chivas, a producer of nothing but outstanding drams. The bouquet is superb: caramel, honey, vanilla, treacle, and assorted fruits. The grain component is remarkably mature. No alcohol harshness on the nose. The palate is a wave of perfection, and the finish is exceptionally smooth. This surpasses the 18-year-old (which is also excellent). The cost is absolutely justified. A perfect score easily.
Deep amber color, visually appealing in the glass. The whisky presents a grainy aroma and good balance. The initial taste is unexpectedly light. Then, dried fruits, peach, a peppery note, a touch of smoke, and cinnamon emerge. The lingering aftertaste is quite good and persists for a while, though not as long as Lagavulin 16YO. It's quite varied, or one could say, unfocused. Considering the price-to-quality ratio, I had higher expectations. The presentation, however, is excellent.
Medium amber color. Smells of the sea, coffee, smoke. The medium body on the palate confirms the nose, adding a mix of malty grains and caramel, leading to a medium smoky finish. A pleasant spirit, but I feel it is overpriced for what it provides.
This is likely one of the smoothest blended whiskies I've sampled, and the smoky vanilla notes on the back end are a pleasant surprise – very well done.
