The first of this particular bottling I ever experienced was quite good. It was bottled at 40% alcohol by volume and had a pale straw color. The aroma was very appealing, with notes of grape juice, butter cookies, tobacco, and chocolate butterscotch. It was a bit subtle but very good. The taste featured prominent notes of oranges, orange candy, pleasant oakiness, spices, ashes, and cough syrup. The mouthwatering finish was medium in length and full of spices. Overall, it scores an 82 out of 100; a fine whisky.

About this bottle
Glenrothes typically ages its whiskies in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. However, this particular bottling deviates by being aged exclusively in ex-bourbon casks. The name "Alba Reserve" is derived from "Quercus Alba," the Latin name for American white oak. This whisky has also received Kosher certification.

Pale gold hue. Ribbons cling to the glass, coating the mouth. Notes of vanilla, coconut, banana, and oak emerge. It's mellow, sugary, with minimal heat. Hints of herbs and blossoms are also present. A pleasant drink for a relaxed night, perfect for leisurely sipping and savoring without being too intense.
The bottle is empty now. I picked up on a ginger characteristic, and the first taste was more intense, but it mellowed into a pleasant and effortless conclusion. I consumed a good portion of this while camping and it was ideal for sipping by the fire outside!
Clearly identifiable as Glenrothes but slightly lighter than the usual reserves, likely because of the single aging cask. Very vibrant and very easy to drink. Excellent with a little water added.
Vanilla and ginger on the nose. A clear, lighter color. Smooth, not harsh, but also short-lived. Delightful if you're seeking something unconventional.
Not particularly complex, very smooth, with subtle vanilla. A good value for a smooth spirit.
