About this bottle

With assistance from historian David Wondrich, this gin was introduced in 2013. Wondrich discovered a recipe from 1809 suggesting American colonists employed rye for Dutch-style gin. New York Distilling Co.'s unaged rye whiskey, made with New York state grains, forms the base. Juniper berries and Cluster hops are added before a third distillation in a pot-still. The spirit rests in oak for three months to mellow.

Whiskey characteristics are upfront, followed by a gin-like finish; it's good but leaves an unpleasant lingering taste.
