Richard Alba 4.0

(Batch 1 / Bottle 511 of 1812) is a potent Brandy from the Lesgourgues family in Armagnac, France. It's a blend of over 20 single-distilled eaux-de-vie from single-estate Baco, Colombard & Folle Blanche grapes, aged at least 21 years in Gascony oak barrels. It was bottled at 45.3% ABV in September 2021. The initial aroma reveals dried fruits, nuts, wood & spices. A rich & bold middle adds notes of plum, ripe peach, orange zest, butterscotch, caramel, maple, cayenne & cinnamon. It concludes with a long & woody finish featuring oak & vanilla. Reviewed May 2022.
