A bartender at Celtic Whiskey Bar & Larder in Killarney, Ireland suggested this. I don't typically favor high ABV whisky. My palate usually struggles with the alcohol burn to fully appreciate the flavor. Initial tastes of mildly sweet, overripe fruit and oak. Not as sweet as most wine or sherry finished spirits. The alcohol burn appears afterward, but it feels more like drinking a warm liquid than a spicy heat. This allowed the flavors to persist through the warmth.
