Catoctin Creek's 2023 limited edition Ragnarök Rye: Oderus Edition, marks ten years since the passing of GWAR's frontman Oderus Urungus, continuing their collaboration. The 100% rye whiskey is aged with white oak, sugar maple, and cherrywood, with an added rum-finished barrel for this specific release. Up to 200 cases will be available nationwide starting August 1, 2023, with an SRP of $99.

A quick review from the Virginia Spirits Expo: Who would have guessed heavy metal could be so intensely sweet? This year's collaboration with the band GWAR presents a nutty aroma, but the taste is predominantly sweet with a brief finish that's mostly sweet, carrying a whisper of rye. The sugar maple and rum finish make this a very sweet drink.
