Caruva Horchata

Hmm, this is sweet, creamy, and enjoyable. The cream flavor is present and tastes genuine. There's some alcohol, possibly whiskey or rum due to abundant cinnamon and vanilla mingled with toffee, plus fireworks and faint cloves. It has a slight eggnog character, which is expected from Horchata. Overall, it's surprisingly pleasing and lacks any distinctly unpleasant notes. It warrants a try. The texture is thinner than Bailey's. The flavor is also significantly more like rubber tires. There's some pleasant spice and I like the caramel sweetness, but it tastes like artificial caramel made with excessive corn syrup (though it also has a nice rich browned butter flavor). The cinnamon roll taste is hard to ignore and quite appealing, yet the individual components taste of low quality, resulting in a drink that resembles low-grade (but not necessarily bad) cinnamon rolls. It coats the mouth like the residue from sugary breakfast cereal to an interesting and alarming degree. It's sweet and indulgent like an alcoholic beverage for children, but it's pretty much just that. It's certainly not as good as Bailey's, though it is quite sweet with some nice spice flavors. That said, I don't strongly dislike it. For the cost, it's not a good value, but refusing a free sample would be foolish.

It begins aromatically with notes of creamy vanilla frosting and cinnamon raisin cake; its full and satiny body adds notes of spicy bread and rice pudding; leading to a long and creamy finish. Aromas of cinnamon and milk. Toffee peanuts. Nutmeg perhaps. Thick and creamy mouthfeel. Flavors are consistent with aromas. Sweet, sweet cream with all the same spices. Not bad.
