Jayson Lemons 1.5

The only one from basic Morgan's with a little bit of use. A difficult, confusing taste, but a nice rum for dark rum mixers at a good price. At least for a start (I found better ones, but I used this a lot back in the day). Drinking it neat provides a genuine sailor experience, as it resembles drinking hard liquor mixed with muddy water and sweetened with molasses. With few exceptions, Morgan's is three steps below basic Havana (and one below basic Bacardí), but the pricing is one step, so I have no reason to choose it. It's nice and not expensive for beginners, but if you miss the Morgan's basics, you won't regret it.

Bette Pantoja 2.0

Strong sugar taste, like licking a sugar cube. Smooth molasses and a touch of tropical fruit, with a slightly dry finish. It tastes like a hangover, sweet and thin. I'd prefer Bacardi Black over this. $27 in Ontario.

Louie Sepulveda 3.0

A strong molasses character, but it burns on the way down. It's not something you'd sip like a rum, but it would work well with mixers.

Jana Shaver 2.0

Suitable for self-harm, pleasing vagrants, or cleaning vehicle wheels.

Journee Fennell 5.0

Excellent.
