Acquired this bottle while traveling in the Dominican Republic and I'm very pleased I did. A bit drier at the end but does possess a sweet start. Flavors of honey, vanilla, new leather, and a hint of oak. Enjoy it neat with a large ice cube, and you're all set.

About this bottle
Introduced in 2015, Brugal Leyenda, meaning "legend" in Spanish, honors the founder and first rum master, don Andrés Brugal Montané, whose signature appears on every bottle. This rum undergoes a double maturation process, first in American white oak that previously held bourbon, and then in Spanish red oak barrels.

Excellent. Very smooth. Hints of caramel, wood, and tobacco, plus vanilla. It's close to the quality of Siglo de Oro; the difference is Leyenda leans sweeter, while Siglo de Oro offers more complexity and spice.
In my view, one of the finest, smoothest rums available. Strong flavors of honey, maple syrup, and a subtle wood taste from the cask. It goes down easily without burning. Excellent value for the money.
Taste: delicate flavor, notes of vanilla and caramel detectable Smell: pleasant, not too strong, detectable sweet scent Color: light brown
Very nice. Sweet vanilla, dark fruit, leather, and oak in that sequence. Could benefit from more complexity and less sweetness.
Excellent flavor, leaning towards the sweeter side. I suggest drinking it with a large ice cube for a better experience.
