J & A Mitchell & Sons, the proprietors of Springbank Distillery, produce this 21-year blended Scotch whisky, Campbeltown Loch. It consists of a 60:40 ratio of grain to malt whiskies. The grain component originates from Girvan, a significant grain distillery owned by William Grant in the Scottish Lowlands, situated across the Isle of Arran from Campbeltown. J & A Mitchell has not disclosed specifics about the malt portion, other than stating it comes from a single distillery. It is bottled at 46% ABV.

As a mix of grain and malt, the grain flavor is dominant. It's rougher than one might anticipate for a 21-year-old. The initial taste includes grapefruit and floral notes, with hints of smoke and petrol. It has a long finish. Not to my taste!
Absolutely fantastic... raisins, a bit floral, then oak and a hint of leather appear, finishing with herbs... like thyme.
Rather spicy and astringent. Frankly, I might prefer the standard Campbeltown Loch
