The Real family produces Calirosa in Amatitán, Jalisco, Mexico. Similar to their other tequilas, their reposado expression is made from 100% Blue Weber agave, harvested between 7 and 9 years old with a 26% sugar content. The agave is then slow-cooked in brick ovens, fermented for up to 50 hours, distilled twice, and subsequently matured for 9 months in California red wine barrels. Smells like agave, vanilla, orange, strawberry, and white cake. The taste is sweet with plenty of orange and cake notes, plus icing and vanilla. The finish is fruity.
