Caisteal Chamuis Blended Malt is a highly peated blend of malt whiskies originating from Scotland's western isles. This expression, without a stated age, is initially matured in first-fill and refill American oak hogsheads. Subsequently, portions of the blend are aged in heavily charred virgin American oak barrels with Oloroso sherry European oak heads, while another portion rests in refill hogsheads. The final maturation stage takes place in fresh bourbon barrels. It is bottled at 92 proof without any added color or chill filtration. Caisteal Chamuis, meaning Castle Camus in Gaelic, is a blended malt whisky brand from Mossburn Distillers.

This evokes thoughts of Christmas and mulled wine, though that might be influenced by the current season. It has notes of orange peel and spices, reminiscent of a cozy fireplace. It tasted rather young with a noticeable alcohol intensity. Overall good, but it won't be among my favorites.
