About this bottle

This special bottling, crafted to honor Canada's 150th anniversary, is a lightly-peated single malt and malted-rye whisky blend. The Canadian rye whisky component was matured in former bourbon casks, while the lightly-peated barley whisky spent time in oloroso sherry casks. This release is exclusive to Canada.

Paisley Healey 4.8

I've wanted to open this for a while and it lived up to expectations. The peat is subtle at first, but engaging. Perhaps a light medicinal hint combined with honey or cereal sweetness. On the palate, many baking spices emerge; clove, all spice, cinnamon. Oak notes begin to appear over time. The peat is present with a mild earthy note, but never overpowering. I noticed the pepper from the Rye didn't show up until the finish. This is a complex, flavorful poor. Possibly a bit young, but if you enjoy intricate, layered whisky, this is a must-buy. Cheers! Eden Gresham 4.0

The aroma is pleasant and subtle, offering faint peat smoke, rye spice, and lemon zest. The taste is quite unusual! It's incredibly rich and smooth. Notes of malt sweetness, butter, and shortbread. The finish is delightful, with clove spice, buttery cookies, bready notes, and a touch of smoke alongside sherry sweetness and rye.
