In the first half of the 20th century, the drover Antônio Ferreira Neto departed the welcoming village of Vitoriano Veloso (Bichinho), traversing dusty paths and riding donkeys to acquire one of the region's top cachaças. The spirit was brought to the store of his father, Vicente Ferreira Rodrigues, commercially known in São João Del-Rei. Both father and son harbored the ambition to eventually produce their own cachaça. Their aspiration was fulfilled by the third family generation. In 1997, Velho Ferreira emerged, embodying decades of expertise in selecting and presenting the most pure and authentic cachaça from Minas Gerais. The name is a tribute from Cláudio Ferreira da Silva to his father, Antônio Ferreira Neto (Velho Ferreira), whose image is featured on this distinctive drink's label. Always distilled in copper stills, it was made until 2015 in Bichinho. Currently produced on the Cantagalo farm (Prados - MG), it retains its connection to Bichinho, where it is stored, matured, and sold. Velho Ferreira offers its admirers the essence of stories, the superiority of its ingredients, ancestral knowledge, and the tradition of Minas Gerais' finest cachaças. Cachaça Velho Ferreira is aged in Yellow Ipê barrels for 30 months. Notes of spice and integrated wood. Provided by the Velho Ferreira website.
