Its creator, Luiz Otávio Pôssas Gonçalves, has over 50 years of experience in the beverage industry. He began producing Coca-Cola in Minas Gerais and is also recognized for establishing Kaiser beer and Kero Coco, the nation's first boxed coconut water, while continuing his entrepreneurial ventures in the sector. The advent of Vale Verde was gradual, starting when Luiz Otávio received a small still from his uncle, sparking his interest in the cachaça market. The Vale Verde brand was established in 1985. Around this time, Luiz Otávio traveled to Europe to explore new methods for improving the fermentation and distillation of the spirit. Utilizing European expertise, Vale Verde Extra Premium was developed, aged for three years. Subsequently, it garnered awards, leading to increased recognition throughout Brazil. The estate, which upholds its production traditions, started attracting numerous visitors. This led to the establishment of the Vale Verde Ecological Park in 2002, situated within the Cachaças Theme Park in Betim, part of the Belo Horizonte Metropolitan Region, Minas Gerais. It houses approximately 1,300 animals, including birds, reptiles, and mammals, and features a Cachaça Museum detailing the spirit's history from ancient Egypt. The park boasts over two thousand different labels, along with the complete collection of the Vale Verde brand. With six tons of sugarcane processed daily during harvest, approximately 140,000 liters of cachaça were produced in 2014. A portion of the sugarcane residue was used as fuel for production machinery, with the remainder serving as organic fertilizer for the sugarcane fields. In May 2014, the product line expanded with a new offering, Cachaça Vale Verde Prata 700ml, which now accounts for 10% of the company's beverage sales. With an authentic flavor and 40% alcohol content, it possesses a natural color and upholds the Vale Verde quality standard. This spirit is also commonly referred to as white or silver. Vale Verde Prata is bottled directly after distillation without aging in barrels and is ready for consumption. It is ideal for enthusiasts of "branquinha" and for use in mixed drinks, as it imparts a distinct flavor to cocktails and caipirinhas. Source: Cachaçaria Nacional.
