In 1949, a gentleman married a lady, and in the same year, he achieved another milestone: acquiring his father-in-law's still. This partnership led to the establishment of a Cachaça producer in the city of Luiz Alves, state of Santa Catarina, with a designation of origin for cachaça. Initially, the family cultivated their own sugarcane, grinding it for supplies. Later, molasses was brought by cart from neighboring areas by settlers for production. The small business expanded, allowing for the purchase of machinery to boost output and meet regional demand. Generally, the cachaça ages for 2 to 35 years in oak barrels, imparting unique flavors and refinement. Currently, with over 70 types, they offer high-quality, handmade beverages using selected raw materials and boasting a 75-year tradition. There are two distinct labels for this Cachaça, each from a different batch of the same 2020 harvest. The first batch on August 14, 2020, used the older label, while the second batch on September 1, 2020, featured the newer label. Tasting notes include: caramel color, aromatic toffee, vanilla, dried fruits, almonds, and a long finish. Information sourced from the Cachaça producer.
