In 1999, in Esmeraldas, within the Belo Horizonte Metropolitan Region, Euler Chaves decided to allocate a portion of his land to cultivate high-quality cachaça. During a visit to the Federal University of Lavras (Ufla), he encountered a novel approach to producing a highly hygienic beverage with utmost environmental consideration. The entrepreneur incorporated selected yeasts from this institution, a significant innovation at the time. Cachaça Prazer de Minas is crafted by blending tradition from Minas Gerais with modern technology. The sugarcane is chosen, harvested, washed, and processed in mills, yielding pure juice. This juice undergoes natural fermentation in stainless steel tanks within a climate-controlled environment. Distillation occurs in copper stills, heated by a boiler. Only the finest portion of the distillate is aged. These factors contribute to Prazer de Minas being one of Brazil's most acclaimed cachaças. All production phases are documented to ensure a consistent quality standard, which is assessed and verified by Inmetro. Cachaça Prazer de Minas Prata Jequitibá is aged for just 2 years in Jequitibá, the most neutral of Brazilian woods. It exhibits floral and herbal aromas, sugarcane sweetness, and a balanced, pleasant, medium finish.
