Pivô, a genuine cachaça from Minas Gerais, originates from the sugarcane grown on the producer's own land in the Zona da Mata, near the Pirapetinga river. This spirit is crafted using native yeast for fermentation and undergoes a double distillation in a copper still, resulting in a mellow and fragrant drink. "My initial involvement with this initiative was creating the primary artwork for the label, which reflects its regional heritage and illustrates the double distillation method responsible for Pivô's distinct taste," shared a designer on their online portfolio. "Soon after, I developed the final label design for their 980ml and 355ml containers. Two varieties are available: Branca, which rests in stainless steel, and Carvalho, matured in oak barrels. Following these tasks, I managed the brand's overall visual direction, employing an unusual yet effective strategy, supported by prior research and discussions with the client," they added. "Subsequently, I handled the promotional materials for Pivô's market introduction, intended to showcase the product to distributors and customers, and to convey the brand's core message. This stage delves deeper into the Minas Gerais way of life – the "uai of life" – using artwork and diverse items such as coasters, a beverage list, a brand guide, posters, and a website. During this period, a fellow designer contributed their expertise. *A play on words combining "way of life" and "uai", a common expression in Minas Gerais. Details found on Behance.
