Cachaça Matriarca has been handcrafted for over thirty years on the Cio da Terra farm, situated between Caravelas, Lajedão, and Medeiros Neto in the far south of Bahia. This area, traditionally known for its rich massapê soil, has recently gained recognition for its superior sugarcane cultivation. The history of Matriarca is closely linked to the entrepreneurial spirit of its founder, Adalberto Alves Pinto. As the youngest of eight children, Beto Pinto grew up absorbing the wisdom of his mother, Aracy, a remarkable farmer who single-handedly raised and educated her children, embodying the role of a true matriarch. In pursuit of the perfect flavor, Matriarca crafts its own vats and barrels on-site, enabling meticulous refinement and innovation, notably pioneering the use of jackfruit. This process honors the beauty, colors, textures, and diversity of wood. Cachaça Matriarca Bálsamo, 750ml, is aged for eight years in bálsamo barrels, a distinctly Brazilian wood. It's a robust spirit with 42% alcohol content. The name "matriarch" is a tribute from founder Beto Pinto to his mother, Aracy, who raised eight children alone, truly earning the title of matriarch.
