In 1960, José Maria Santana, known as Zé Santana, began crafting cachaça in a small watermill in Guaraciaba, Minas Gerais. The product was transported via donkeys by the tropeiros. The cachaça's reputation grew regionally, increasing demand and leading to the replacement of the watermill with a larger, steam-powered facility. Five years later, the Guaraciaba brand was trademarked, and trucks replaced the donkeys. It quickly became a preferred beverage in the capital. Currently, Cachaça Guaraciaba is overseen by Zé Santana's successor and is produced between June and October, yielding 400,000 to 600,000 liters annually. Guaraciaba Reserva Especial Amburana is a mix of vintages, aged for eight years in amburana wood, a traditional Brazilian timber. With a 38% alcohol content, it is light. The blend offers a distinctive flavor and exceptional aroma, featuring a smoother, woody taste and elegant packaging. Source: Cachaçaria Nacional.
