Nestled within the rolling valleys and mountains of West-Central Minas Gerais lies the historic city of Pitangui, a significant gold rush town, the birthplace of Brazilian independence, and the site of the cachaça revolt in 1718. Among the many key figures in the 1822 independence movement, Father Belchior, a priest and close confidant of Dom Pedro I, was particularly notable. It was on an old estate once owned by this priest that Poliana Miranda established the Cachaça Frazão facilities, carefully preserving the farm's rustic charm. In 2012, driven by a shared passion for cachaça, the long-held ambition to produce a quality distillate became a reality, preserving the local cachaça heritage. The distillery is modern and spacious, with a fully stainless steel production line adhering strictly to legal standards, ensuring the purity of the spirit at every stage. Cachaça Frazão prioritizes growth through substantial technological investment while honoring its artisanal and historical roots. The name Frazão has been associated with the Pitangui region of Minas Gerais since the 18th-century cachaça revolt, signifying resilience and historical importance, which inspired the cachaça's name as a tribute to this prominent family.
