CACHAÇA FABULOSA AMBURANA

Fabulosa cachaça was created in 2003 by a native of Salinas, the national cachaça capital of Minas Gerais. The producer states on his website that he acquired selected batches of local cachaças that had aged for 4, 8, and 10 years. Fabulosa cachaça is a blend of these cachaças, matured for an average of 6 years in balsam vats. Fabulosa Cachaça is registered in Brazil as a distillery and cachaça producer, but it's unclear from the label or website whether they produced this cachaça or simply combined it with distillates from other producers. Another inconsistency noted is that the same distillate is offered under two distinct names: Cachaça Fabulosa Tradicional or Bálsamo Ouro for $28 per bottle and Cachaça Fabulosa Especial for $43 per bottle (the packaging increased the price). However, two other different cachaças are already available: FABULOSA PRATA, likely with balsam but with a much lighter yellow hue; AMBURANA with this other Brazilian wood.
