The creation of Cachaça Estação da Cana began as residents of the Juréia district, situated by the Muzambo River in Monte Belo, Minas Gerais, sought a distinctive, high-quality product representing their area. Júlio César Benjamim, the current owner, who had prior experience with the cachaça his great-grandfather started, decided to delve into the world of Brazilian distillate. He pursued courses and lectures, explored various stills, and deeply studied their production processes. In 2015, he planted the first sugarcane for his cachaça. With the sugarcane growing, he needed a name reflecting his family and the city. Juréia was a significant railway hub for over four decades, and coincidentally, Benjamim's family arrived in the region in 1911, the same year the railway construction started. Thus, naming his drink Estação da Cana was a fitting tribute to an important local landmark and his family. The cachaças are distilled in copper stills and aged in wooden barrels using a sill system. Strict quality control ensures a good and authentic distillate. Cachaça Estação Da Cana Carvalho is aged in oak barrels. It has 39% alcohol, a bright golden appearance, and a medium body. The aroma features balanced alcohol, vanilla, and a sweetness reminiscent of wild honey. The palate presents a slight sweetness, evident vanilla notes, and balanced acidity, with a long finish.
