The creation of Cachaça Estação da Cana stemmed from a desire by the inhabitants of the Juréia district, situated along the Muzambo River in Monte Belo, Minas Gerais, for a distinct, high-quality product that represented their locale. Júlio César Benjamim, the present owner and distiller of Estação da Cana, who had prior experience with the cachaça his great-grandfather began years earlier, resolved to delve into the world of Brazilian spirits. He pursued training and seminars, familiarized himself with various stills, and thoroughly studied their respective production methods. By 2015, he commenced planting the initial sugarcane that would eventually form his cachaça. With the sugarcane established, attention turned to selecting a name reflecting his family and the town. This proved straightforward. Juréia was a significant railway center for over forty years. Coincidentally, Benjamim's family relocated to the area in 1911, the same year railway construction commenced. Consequently, naming his spirit Estação da Cana, in honor of a key regional landmark and his family, was a fitting choice. The cachaças are distilled using copper stills and aged in wooden barrels through a sill maturation process. Strict quality control measures are in place to ensure a superior and authentic distillate. Cachaça Estação Da Cana Inox is unaged and pure, with 45% alcohol content that is well-integrated. It presents a clear, limpid appearance, medium body, balanced acidity, and an aromatic profile featuring floral and herbal notes, along with a pleasant sugarcane sweetness. On the palate, a subtle sweetness is detected, with distinct notes of vegetal character and sugarcane.
