The distillery is located in Dores do Turvo (the same name as the cachaça) in the state of Minas Gerais. Production occurs at Fazenda Jeremias, which cultivates its own sugarcane fields without pesticides. The cane is harvested manually when ripe, without burning. Grinding happens daily, consistently yielding fresh and pure juice. The sugarcane juice (garapa) ferments into must in vats, following the traditional Minas artisanal method with natural ingredients (corn meal) and no additives, developing the best yeast and a pleasant aroma. Distillation uses traditional copper stills. The cachaça is distilled slowly and then cooled with great care. Cachaça Dores do Turvo is aged for one year in authentic oak barrels, then both are triple filtered and bottled at the farm. It has a 42% alcohol content, but the overall experience is pleasant due to the well-integrated alcohol. Award: 2018 - Silver Medal at ExpoCachaça. Tasting Notes: Golden color, aromatic, sweetness from sugarcane and wood, sugar, balanced acidity and alcohol, with character and elegance, revealing notes of vanilla and dried fruits, with a lingering finish. Source: Jeremias Farm and Cachaçaria Nacional.
