This is the same double-distilled Libertas cachaça produced by Destilaria Lamas for Ambix at the Belo Horizonte Central Market. The double distillation highlights the need for refinement, as quality cachaça typically requires only one distillation to retain its original complexity of aromas and flavors; further distillation diminishes complexity. Aged in American Oak barrels, it has a golden hue, and this wood, known for imparting sweetness and complexity, contributes aromas of honey, vanilla, coconut, and dried fruits. It has an intense, almond-like, and woody flavor with a striking taste that persists. Libertas cachaça has received accolades, including the Gold Medal at the Frankfurt International Trophy (2021) and the Gold Medal at Expocachaça (2022).
