With its distillery still located in the city of Barbacena in the state of Minas Gerais, the cachaça was created by Emerson Caldeira Resende in 2007 when his parents, Juscelino Mozart (deceased) and Gracíola Caldeira, retired teachers, acquired the small rural property known as Sítio Santa Anastácia in the rural area of Senhora das Dores, a district of Barbacena. A copper still was present on the site for home productions. Mr. Juscelino decided to reactivate the still, and the first production took place in 2008 for his own consumption. Following Mr. Juscelino Mozart's death in early 2009, productions were interrupted, but his father's dream persisted with the son. In December 2017, the son decided to move closer to his mother and began planning the project, followed by its construction. The work was completed at the end of 2019. The distillery now has a built area of around 400 square meters and complies with Brazilian standards and legislation for the beverage sector. It has the capacity to produce up to 30 thousand liters per year and focuses on aging in barrels of different wood types and sustainable development. The rustic space was built with care and attention, becoming much more than a distillery; it is a place where the art of producing a divine cachaça can be found. The details on the label hold memories of those who studied in classrooms that had this type of blackboard written with chalk, and the back label, in turn, features a detail of the glasses worn by Mr. Juscelino. Cachaça Divina D Minas Amburana 700ml is aged in amburana barrels for one year. With 40% alcohol content, the drink is bright, translucent, crystalline, and golden in color, leaving well-defined tears in the glass, demonstrating its viscosity quality. It has a woody aroma typical of Amburana, with notes of vanilla and hints of cinnamon and honey, with balanced alcohol. In the mouth, it has a balanced woody flavor without the bitterness typical of Amburana; there is a subtle presence of the olfactory notes. With low acidity and a slightly sweet and velvety aftertaste, it sharpens the desire for the next sip. Source: Cachaçaria Nacional.
