This cachaça, produced in Três Pontas, Minas Gerais, is named Minerva after the Roman goddess of wisdom, arts, commerce, and war, who is the counterpart to the Greek goddess Athena. This is a new release from the producer, not yet listed on their website or available for purchase. While the time in Castanheira wood imparted a light yellow hue and a subtle oiliness, it also introduced hints of vanilla, dried fruits, and nuts. The 44% alcohol content (4% higher than their other cachaças) is well-integrated and doesn't overwhelm the senses.
