Cachaça production commenced in 1850 at Fazenda São Luiz, located in Leme do Prado within the Jequitinhonha Valley, in northern Minas Gerais, an area renowned for producing the finest cachaças in Brazil. That year, Captain Barroso, universally known by that moniker, began crafting a cachaça of exceptional quality, which his grandson, Geraldo Barroso, christened Dama da Noite. The name is inspired by a flower that releases a delightful fragrance after dark. The Barroso family's passion for cachaça and unwavering commitment to quality drove them to continuously enhance this uniquely flavored spirit. Cachaça Dama da Noite Umburana (Amburana) is aged for two years in Amburana barrels. It presents intense, woody, and cinnamon notes; the alcohol is well-integrated and doesn't betray its stated proof. The spiced character and sweetness are in balance, leading to a medium-long finish. Sourced from Cachaçaria Nacional.
