The Casa Bucco distillery is situated in Bento Gonçalves, within the state of Rio Grande do Sul, specifically in the Tuiuty district, part of the Vale do Rio das Antas tourist area. The Bucco family, originally from Udne, Italy, where they were Grappa producers, founded the establishment. In Brazil, these Italian immigrants constructed the still and produced cachaças, liqueurs, grappas, and fine wines. The distillery and the Casa Bucco brand are now owned by Moacir A. Menegotto and his family, though they do not share the Bucco surname. The copper still is a "Charante" type, which separates the distillation into three stages, discarding the head and tail to use only the heart. This heart is either stored in stainless steel tanks for white "Prata" cachaça or aged in oak and Brazilian wood barrels. To achieve a lighter cachaça, intended to highlight fruit flavors in cocktails and caipirinhas, some cachaças, like this specific one named "Bi Bucco," undergo double distillation. It was initially created at a client's request and is now a regular offering from the distillery. Bi Bucco Double Distilled Cachaça presents a mild woody note. APPEARANCE: A pale yellow hue from a year spent aging in oak barrels. AROMA: Subtle hints of vanilla and a balanced scent profile. TASTE: Smooth, well-integrated, and surprisingly pleasant.
