Sierra Webster 3.5

Around 1896, at the Pé da Serra location in Vila de Gravatá, now Caraguataí, a mill for producing sugarcane sugar, molasses, and cachaça was established by Mr. Zeferino Alves Pereira and his wife Maria Francisca Marques. At that time, the founder began innovating, putting the drink into 10-liter glass jugs under the brand “O PAPAGAIO”. By approximately 1911, he innovated again by constructing a new mill solely for cachaça and increased sugar cane output by expanding the planting area. From that point on, production was passed down from father to son! In 1996, his granddaughter, Anita Vitalia Pereira, decided to co-found the Cooperative of Associated Producers of Cane and its Derivatives of the Abaíra Microregion, known as COOPAMA. This marked the beginning of a new era for high-quality artisanal cachaça, with investments in new facilities, technology, and novel sugar cane varieties. These advancements led to a transformation in cachaça production within the Region. Since the inception of brandy in the area, there had been no quality control, and production methods were extremely rudimentary. With a growing market, a superior product became necessary, leading to specialization in the new concept of cachaça production. Investments were made in infrastructure, technologically advanced equipment, and training. As a result, “Cachaça Caraguataí” and “Chapada Diamantina” have been produced since 1997, utilizing sugarcane varieties more resistant to disease, cutting-edge equipment, and ongoing cachaça production technology. Even now, as it enters the market, it has been developed over more than a decade to offer a distinct product with rigorous quality control. Furthermore, its location in Chapada Diamantina provides favorable water and climate conditions for producing a fine cachaça, capable of achieving a bouquet and flavor unique to this region due to its specific yeasts, resulting in a cachaça with an unparalleled taste! Cachaça Caraguataí Blend Três Madeiras 750ml is aged for two years in French oak, grapia, and umburana barrels. With an alcohol content of 42%, the beverage exhibits a yellowish color and a singular flavor. Source: Cachaçaria Nacional.
