Cachaçaria Capueira was born from a family's aspiration to create high-quality, artisanal Cachaça in Goiás. This ambition grew stronger on the farm where the spirit is now made. The brand name honors the family patriarch, known by the nickname “Tião Capueira”. It's aged for a minimum of 3 years in single-wood barrels. The Freijó cachaça is aged in single-wood barrels, showcasing Brazil's full tropical character, as Freijó is a natural wood from the Amazon. It has a slightly bitter taste and woody scent, with smooth notes that give a distinct palate experience. Interestingly, most Brazilian cachaça makers use Brazilian Freijó wood, along with Jequitibá and Amendoim, for its neutrality, as it doesn't add color or flavor. Capueira cachaça, however, has drawn out this neutrality from Freijó, making the wood's presence prominent in their distillate. From the Cachaça Capueira website.
