CACHAÇA BATISTA AMBURANA

Cachaça Batista began in 1943 with José Batista de Oliveira at Fazenda Cachoeirinha, Sacramento, in Triângulo Mineiro, near the Serra da Canastra National Park. During World War II, when Brazil faced a sugar shortage, José Batista grew Argentina or Tucumã sugarcane on his farm for rapadura production. This led him to ferment and distill the rapadura broth, starting the production of a legendary local drink. In 1958, the brand, then called Caninha Batista, adopted its famous star logo and slogan "Estrela das Gerais," captivating tastes until 1974 when operations ceased. Today, few original bottles remain as rare collector's items. At ninety years old, Mr. José Batista expressed his wish to his son-in-law, Marco Antonio Afonso da Mota, to revive the project. Marco accepted the challenge, taking on the secrets and techniques for making good cachaça, continuing his father-in-law's legacy and the drink's unparalleled quality. In 2008, Marco Antônio and his son, Marco Elísio, with entrepreneurial zeal, built new Cachaça Batista facilities at Fazenda Boa Sorte, reviving a tradition of over 70 years with modern production methods. The new facility reinforces the brand's heritage and signals a new era for Brazilian artisanal still cachaça. Cachaça Batista Amburana 600ml is aged for eighteen months in amburana barrels, a wood native to Brazil. It is light, with 40% alcohol content. The aging imparts a subtle, sweet woody flavor that appeals to various palates. Packaged in traditional beer bottles, it's part of the retro collection, reviving 1950s label designs. Caution!
