The nose gives away the American whiskey at first sniff. Smells like other light whiskies I've tried before. Burnt corn, strong oak, and a vanilla sweetness. The sweetness probably comes from the Cabernet cask finish, but it doesn't smell fruity in my opinion. The typical light flavors come in of vanilla and a crème brûlée taste, but adding a depth to it from the cask finish really helps elevate the American whiskey flavor. The finish has blueberries, blackberries, and whatever type of grape or berry flavor you want to add here. Overall, I'm not much of a fan of American whiskies, even though I want to be since you can get high age-stated light whiskies for a reasonable price. I say this whiskey is pretty one-dimensional, but the wine finish does help it quite a bit.

I'm unsure of the spirit type or cask. Nose: Quite subtle yet pleasant and sweet. Faint caramel alongside hints of pear and citrus. Palate: A bit too intense, slightly beyond comfortable, featuring gentle notes of roasted leather, barrel char, vanilla, and cinnamon. Finish: A strong finish with faint traces of sugary oak and leather.
