Just as the name suggests, the aroma is full of brown sugar, cinnamon, and a hint of alcohol heat. The taste is even sweeter than anticipated, with the brown sugar being overpowering. There's a somewhat unusual note in the aftertaste that I can't quite identify. Overall, I can't fault it, as it accurately represents its name. However, this bears almost no resemblance to whiskey and might be better with less sugary flavor.

About this bottle
The higher-proof BSB 103, a flavored whiskey made with bourbon, brown sugar, and cinnamon, is an elevated version of the original BSB Brown Sugar Bourbon. Actor and musician Jamie Foxx was announced as the brand's owner in March 2021. Although the bottle design has been updated, the contents remain unchanged. This overproof flavored whiskey is sold nationwide in bottles at 103 proof.

I have conflicting feelings about this one. If you enjoy consuming pancake syrup directly from the container, this might appeal to you. If you're looking to develop a taste for bourbon, this could be a suitable starting point. It doesn't have a bad flavor, but it's excessively sweet for what I consider typical bourbon. In fact, you'd need to reduce the sugar content to prepare an old fashioned. I'll be using this as a mixer. It might be good in a milkshake.
I've never encountered a flavored whiskey above 70 proof before, let alone over 100. The fact that this one is 103 proof, you'd never guess it. It's incredibly smooth. Mixing it into drinks is fantastic. I like this one more than their 60 proof BSB. While a friend prefers the 60 proof version, this 103 proof offering is now my regular choice. Truly a must-try, even for the most experienced whiskey drinker. It's ideal for sharing at tailgates during football season.
I've never encountered a flavored whiskey above 70 proof, let alone exceeding 100 proof. You'd never guess this is 103 proof while drinking it. Incredibly smooth. And it's fantastic when mixed into cocktails. I like this better than their 60 proof BSB. My wife prefers the 60 proof version; this 103 proof is now my preferred choice. Definitely worth trying, even for the most sophisticated whiskey enthusiast. Ideal for sharing at football tailgates this season.
Suitable for enjoying in coffee or from a flask during outdoor activities. However, I strongly recommend against sipping it neat at home. It carries a flavor profile closer to sugar than actual bourbon. If it had cartoon imagery on the label, regulators might even consider it inappropriate for young people. It's plausible that teenagers are already consuming this.
Like preparing pancakes during the zombie apocalypse, it just doesn't taste right. Something is off... the maple syrup, stale butter, blood, pancake mix, or the cries of your dying companions defending you while making breakfast. Smells of maple and burnt alcohol. Tastes like thick cinnamon syrup. More pleasing than fireball/cinnerator/etc.
