Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2006 Dunlossit Farm

This 2007 edition showcases an intriguing exploration of terroir, suggesting that regional origin influences flavor. Even at a young age, it's quite good: subtle peat, notes of seaweed, a salty sea breeze, salted caramel, and apple skins. Hints of menthol, herbs, and florals are present. Buttered popcorn notes emerge. It's complex for its youth, with a bittersweet profile. The palate is a bit hot and peppery but generally solid, fresh, and engaging.

Nose: Tropical fruits, sweet barley with a floral hint, reminiscent of golden fields. Honey and vanilla notes. Taste: Spicy notes with malted barley and sugars. Honey and citrus fruits. Finish: A peppery and crisp fruitiness, though not overly so. Balance: Refreshing throughout.

I've gone through around 9 bottles of the Laddie10 and heard it might be discontinued. So I bought this version and can say it's a younger, more potent expression with a stronger alcohol punch. You could call it a Fierce Laddie10.

I possess the 2007 edition of this. Quite pleasing. I will provide more details later. It had considerable sweetness, with a respectable finish. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is one of the best light whiskies I've had. It's unusual for an Islay.
