To be candid, I'm uncertain if this is the correct rum. I sampled the Don Papa 1888 Double Aged. Is that the double oaked version? Who knows. Regardless, what I had was... adequate. Not ideal for sipping on its own, but it pairs well with prickly pear and lemon.
An excellent low-proof Rum, perfect for sipping. Cherry red wine notes are immediately apparent, complemented by the oakey sweetness of this double-barreled rum.
Same style and price bracket, best rated first.
