Looks like yellow gold. The nose has berries, apple juice, and a whisper of vanilla, with a subtle whisky undertone. Taste and Feel: A sweet berry start, but it tastes strangely artificial. You'll find honey, vanilla, very light sweet cinnamon, and a bit of cider apple. The mouthfeel is like watered-down syrup. This drink was initially called "Scottish Highland" before its name changed to Bruadar, meaning "Dream" in Gaelic. Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers makes it, and they also handle the Carn Mor whiskies and Old Perth blended scotch. The formula was altered in 2021, and the item was reintroduced in new packaging with a slightly increased alcohol content. The image provided displays the updated look. Like most liqueurs, it's quite sweet, but not as thick as some. The honey note is less pronounced than in Drambuie or Glayva, and the natural tartness from sloe berries cuts through the sweetness. Besides drinking it straight after a meal (it pairs nicely with dark chocolate), the producers suggest it for cooking. I can see it being great as a topping for decadent desserts like chocolate pudding or as a sweet glaze for roasted meats. However, there's one aspect I find unpleasant. The aroma reminds me of the fake berry flavoring found in some cough syrups, and it's difficult to shake that connection. As the bottle empties, I've noticed this more and more. While I liked it at first, I'm pretty much done with it now, and there's still a third of the bottle left. I don't think I'd purchase it again. "Average": 79/100 (2.75 stars)

The Whisky provides a bite on the tongue, the honey contributes significant sweetness, and the sloe offers a nice balance. A slightly smoky finish. A very pleasant dessert/celebration liqueur.
