Camron Heim 2.8

Appearance: Clear amber gold. Aroma: Honey, apple cider, with a subtle aroma of pale ale. Flavor and Texture: Honey and a fermented/distilled grain flavor. It's slightly sweet but not overly sugary or cloying. The texture is light, and a distinct ale-like note is present in the aftertaste. This liqueur is not available in Australia, and its distribution might be limited to the UK. Overall, it precisely matches the description on the label: 'whisky and fermented honeycomb.' The initial sensation is similar to mead or melomel, but not intensely so, and the base spirit is clearly a blending-grade grain whisky, not malt. It's a pleasant, light-bodied liqueur that Mrs and I both enjoyed. However, it's the kind of drink you taste at a distillery and might only purchase on impulse or out of courtesy. It would be easily overshadowed by other drinks in a similar category, and I'd prefer a sauternes, mistelle, mead, calvados, or pommeau if given a choice... you understand. 'Average': 78/100 (2.75 stars)

Audra Hope 3.0

It initially smells and tastes like apple cider. A gentle wave of peat follows. The final, lingering sensation is a pleasant, non-sugary honey, perhaps with a hint of maple. This was a gift from two friends.

Wilfred Polanco 4.5
