Plenty of slow-moving legs, dark copper with an amber hue. The nose is a massive hit of rye. Tart fruit, green apple, caramel, bright and spicy with the familiar rolled grain. Soft mouthfeel with a nice hit of heat at the back. Loads of caramel, vanilla, and a hint of ripe fruit. The mid-palate seems to come mostly from the barrel. The finish rolls out slowly and alternates between sweeter tones and barrel notes. Toasted oak, dark salted caramel, baking spice, and golden raisins. Really good. Complex and inviting, with a long finish and good balance.
