Breaker Bourbon

Nose: A sweeter aroma. Trying to identify it. Not quite honey, but not butterscotch or caramel either. Actually, I'd say vanilla. Wow. On a second sniff after tasting Elijah Craig, this smells like bubble gum. Fruity sweetness. It has a deeper color than the Devils River, but not as dark as the Elijah Craig or Bernhelm. Tasting: Thin and sweet. The flavor profile is light with no discernible finish. Perhaps they should carbonate it and sell it as Red Pop.

Strong aroma, intense yet pleasing. Fruity, aged oak, some brown sugar, and alcohol burn. Young notes on the palate, but not harsh. Sweet, woody notes, and some orchard fruit and pecan nibs. Not overly complex but solid. Spice lingers and warmth is decently long. 7/23/18

I can’t believe this only gets an 82. This is a wonderful after-dinner whiskey with some dark fruit and vanilla goodness. I used to drink this a lot, but now I can’t find it on the east coast anymore.

Nose features brown sugar, orange peel, and clove. The palate echoes the nose, adding molasses taffy and graham cracker crust. A pleasant medium-plus finish with notes of dark chocolate and dark honey. Enjoyable on its own, or in an old fashioned.

Surprisingly quite good! Typical bourbon, but very smooth with a mellow finish, well-balanced. I'd like to know the mashbill, but I do detect a hint of rye.

Maple and vanilla. It wasn't bad, but it's not something I need to keep in my bar. For $40, there are much better options.
