The finish was smooth, medium in duration, but at 49% ABV, it made an immediate impact. Not overly hot or spicy, it's an easy-drinking spirit. The price is a separate discussion. Generally, I find this a good, easy sipper, but at $80 in my area, it's excessive. For that amount, one could acquire a Russell's Reserve Single Barrel, two bottles of Russell's Reserve 10 Year, or a couple of bottles of Eagle Rare (if found at retail). However, this seems to be the pattern with celebrity-endorsed spirits: source whiskey from established distilleries, add a unique twist (like a themed presentation), and sell at a premium.

American Highway Reserve Bourbon (Route 2) is a collaborative bourbon brand with Bardstown Bourbon Co. and Brad Paisley. Route 2's blend comprises three bourbons, aged between 4-12 years, with two originating from Kentucky and one from Georgia, each possessing distinct mash bills. Similar to the prior batch, the bourbon barrels for Route 2 were further matured in a Rolling Rickhouse, a semi-trailer truck that accompanied Paisley's summer 2021 tour. Route 2 experienced more road miles than the first batch, suggesting potential flavor variations in both the bourbon recipe and the finishing impact. Approximately 10,000 cases are offered in select markets starting May 2022.

Heavy vanilla on the nose. Nice spicy finish. Flavor score should be in the low 90s. Expert score might be lower due to cost? A little overpriced but still good.
